These awards recognise and reward individuals and departments across the University of Oxford who undertake high-quality Public Engagement with Research. The Ashmolean and the Social Science Division (SSD) have been given this award for a co-hosted public evening event in 2015.

In May 2015, the Ashmolean and the Social Sciences Division joined forces to hold Social Animals, one of the museum's late night LiveFriday events. More than 4,500 people attended the evening of live performances and interactive workshops that engaged Oxfords public with over 70 of Oxfords cutting-edge social scientists from across the division, using the Ashmolean's collections as an entry point to engage the public.
