GLAM Digital Showcase, 25 February

Members of the University are invited to the Gardens, Libraries and Museums (GLAM) Digital Showcase on Tuesday 25 February to find out about the range of activity driving digital innovation across the University’s Gardens, Libraries and Museums.

From conservation and online collections to public engagement and audience research, learn about the digital tools and services being used across our work, see where the expertise lies within GLAM, and identify what might be applicable within your own team or institution.

The free event, which is taking place at the Museum of Natural History from 4.30pm to 7pm, will be in two parts:

  1. Four short talks showcasing current projects:

    • GLAM and Google Arts & Culture

    • Digital making at the Ashmolean and Bodleian

    • Piloting the use of social media data to enhance our understanding of visitor behaviour

    • Replicating historic musical instruments at the Pitt Rivers Museum

  2. Drinks and networking in the Main Court, together with information stands so you can have one-on-one discussions and hands-on demos. The projects represented will include the Oxford X-Reality Hub; digital interactives at the Bodleian; the Collections Online platform at the Museum of Natural History; Digital Asset Management at the History of Science Museum; digital collection preservation at the Bodleian; and digital reconstructions for exhibitions at the Museum of Natural History.
