About GLAM research
GLAM is the catalyst, the platform and the forum for innovative collections-based research. We play a significant part in the University’s research infrastructure by housing creative research programmes, enabling research from across the University and beyond, and driving innovative Public and Community Engagement with Research that connects with diverse audiences.
Our institutions deliver world-leading research through innovative research and engagement projects reaching local, national and global audiences. Our research activates the University of Oxford’s world-class collections, enhancing knowledge and value, whilst raising Oxford’s profile in the world. The flavours of our work are the product of a specific alchemy unique to Oxford’s world-class gardens, libraries and museums.
We also provide support to internal and external researchers through access to our collections and our expertise and resources, and we enable research and impact with Oxford scholars, talented students, an engaged public, and international partners, using our world-class collections.
What makes GLAM unique is the interdisciplinarity and breadth of our collections-based research and impact, which connects our work across multiple fields of study and throughout the world.
